How do I reserve a vehicle at Dockx Rental?

You can book a vehicle at Dockx Rental online via dockx.be, via the Dockx app or directly at a Dockx Service Shop near you.

Here's how to proceed:

  • Choose your vehicle type on dockx.be or in the Dockx app.
  • Select your pick-up location (Service Shop or Pick-up Point) and your desired period.
  • Add any extras: additional driver, moving materials or a larger vehicle.
  • Pay online or in the shop.
  • Receive your confirmation and collect your vehicle at the agreed time.

Book in advance — weekends, holiday periods and end of month, vehicles fill up quickly. Want to rent for half a day? Call your Dockx Service Shop the same day to check availability.

What is included in the rental price?

The rental price at Dockx Rental always includes: third-party liability insurance, a number of free kilometres depending on the vehicle type and rental period, and 24/7 roadside assistance in Europe.

Included:

  • Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL)
  • Free kilometres (the number varies depending on vehicle type and period)
  • 24/7 roadside assistance and assistance in Europe — only in case of technical defect of the vehicle

Not included:

  • Fuel: you depart with a full tank and return the vehicle full. If you don't return it full, we will refuel at the daily rate and charge this to your final invoice.
  • Security deposit: the amount varies depending on vehicle type and rental period.
  • One Way Service: returning the vehicle to another location costs €50 (incl. VAT).
  • Additional driver: €19.97 (incl. VAT) per additional driver.
  • Additional excess waiver (optional).
  • Extra cleaning costs: only charged if the vehicle is returned in poor condition or if smoking has occurred.

When is it cheaper to rent a vehicle?

Renting outside peak periods is cheaper. For delivery vans and moving vans, weekdays (Mon-Fri) and rental periods of 5 consecutive days are the most cost-effective choice.

By vehicle type:

Peak periods — when vehicles also fill up faster: weekends, holiday periods and last week of the month. There are also regular promotions on mid-week rental of delivery vans and moving vans.

Can I rent a vehicle on a Sunday or a public holiday?

Yes. Dockx Service Shops are closed on Sundays and public holidays, but you can pick up the vehicle the evening before between 17:30 and 18:00 at your Dockx Service Shop. You pay the same price and have the vehicle for one extra evening.

Via the Dockx app you can reserve and unlock a Mini VanMega Van or Easy Box 24/7, including on Sundays and public holidays.

Can I modify or cancel my reservation?

Yes. Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before departure; extension is arranged on site at your Dockx Service Shop.

Extension: you can only extend a rental period at the Dockx Service Shop where you picked up the vehicle — telephone extension is not possible. You receive a new rental agreement and the deposit is adjusted. Without a valid contract, you are not insured.

Cancellation: free until 48 hours before your departure. If you cancel within this timeframe, we will charge a cancellation fee of €75. Contact your Dockx Service Shop to cancel.

Can I rent extras alongside the vehicle?

Yes. At Dockx Rental, you can rent moving materials alongside the vehicle, add an additional driver or upgrade to a larger vehicle. Some extras can be requested at the Dockx Service Shop.

Bookable online:

  • Moving materials (boxes, hand trucks, moving blankets, packing tape)
  • Additional driver (€19.97 incl. VAT per person)
  • Upgrade to a larger vehicle

Only at the Dockx Service Shop:

  • Roof rack, towbar, winter tyres
  • GPS (for motorcycle rental)

Note: all drivers must be listed on the rental agreement. Driving with an unlisted driver is not covered by insurance.

How far in advance do I need to book?

You can book on dockx.be up until the day of your departure, but booking in advance is highly recommended, especially weekends, during holidays and end of month. During these periods, vehicles fill up quickly.

For a Mini VanMega Van or Easy Box you book 24/7 via the Dockx app, right up to departure.

Want to rent for half a day? Call your Dockx Service Shop the same day — you cannot book this online.

How does booking via the Dockx app work?

Via the Dockx app you book a Mini VanMega Van or Easy Box 24/7, and you open the vehicle with your smartphone as a digital key. You don't need to visit a Service Shop, but the same vehicles can also simply be booked online or at a Service Shop.

Here's how it works:

  • Download the Dockx app and create an account.
  • Choose your vehicle (Mini VanMega Van or Easy Box), your location and your period.
  • Pay online and confirm your reservation.
  • Open the vehicle at the agreed time via the app.
